Maya Plass
My passion for the ocean began on childhood walks to Hilbre Island, exploring rocky shores, discovering marine life and watching seals emerge from the sea. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of the natural world, leading me to study marine biology and build a career connecting people with our ocean.
From founding a marine education business to working with charities, researchers and broadcasters, I've spent my career using storytelling, communications and community engagement to inspire curiosity and action for nature.
Today, alongside my writing and broadcasting, I work freelance with organisations and communities on communications, engagement and environmental projects that bring people together, strengthen connections with nature and create lasting positive impact.
